First things first; have your required documents ready.

Please be advised: Some applications require a processing fee.

‘Kennitala’ – Identification number
You will need a valid identification (passport) and apply at Register Iceland (Þjóðskrá).

Residence permit

Work permit
Working in Iceland requires work permit.

Medical examination
The Directorate of Health requires applicants from certain countries to undergo a medical examination. This must be done within two (2) weeks of your arrival in Iceland.
